High-Performance Special Alloys for Molds and Dies can be seen at the AMPCO METAL booth

AMPCO METAL is exhibiting at Interplast the development and supply of high-performance special alloys for molds and dies in the plastics processing industry. With materials already known and well-evaluated by the market, the company shows how its special alloys contribute to raising the technical standard of molds and dies used in injection, blow molding and extrusion processes. The materials on display demonstrate strategic applications in components such as inserts, cavities, cores, mold holders and critical cooling regions, where thermal performance and durability are crucial for the success of the process.

AMPCO METAL’s commercial coordinator, João Luiz de Oliveira, explains that the materials offer excellent thermal conductivity, which translates into better mold cooling, reduced cycle time and greater dimensional stability of the parts. “In addition to supplying the material, we provide technical support and applied knowledge, helping the client choose the right alloy for each point of the mold,” he says.

With a strong presence among tool and die makers and plastic processing industries, the company uses Interplast as a space for exchanging technical knowledge, presenting application cases, and strengthening strategic partnerships in the Brazilian market.

DIFFERENTIALS OF AMPCO METAL’S SPECIAL ALLOYS FOR MOLDS AND DIES

AMPCO METAL’s special alloys for molds and dies are developed to meet the increasingly stringent demands of the plastics industry. The excellent thermal conductivity of AMPCO METAL alloys allows for much more efficient heat exchange compared to traditional steels. This factor is crucial for improving mold cooling and heating, resulting in shorter cycles and higher productivity. The reduction in cycle time directly impacts the cost per part produced, increasing the competitiveness of companies that adopt these solutions.

In addition to increased productivity, improved temperature control provides greater dimensional stability and better surface finish of plastic parts. This is especially relevant in segments where visual quality and dimensional accuracy are critical, such as packaging, cosmetics, automotive, and consumer goods. By reducing thermal variations in the mold, special alloys contribute to more stable and predictable processes.

Another important differentiator of AMPCO METAL solutions is the greater durability in critical areas of the mold. Components such as inserts, cavities, cores, and regions subject to intense wear benefit from the mechanical strength and stability of the materials, reducing the need for frequent maintenance and premature replacements. This increase in service life represents direct savings and greater availability of production equipment.

ABOUT AMPCO METAL

AMPCO METAL is an international group specializing in the development and supply of high-performance special alloys and engineering metal solutions. Founded in 1914, the company has accumulated over 100 years of experience and operates globally, serving customers in various markets around the world.

In Brazil, AMPCO METAL Brasil serves the market with a focus on technical solutions primarily for molds and dies used in the plastics processing industry. AMPCO METAL’s solutions also contribute to the sustainability of production processes. The thermal efficiency of the molds, which reduces energy consumption per part produced, and the superior durability of the components minimize material waste and the environmental impact associated with the manufacture of new components.
