Chem-Trend participates in Interplast, bringing to the public globally recognized solutions, such as the Ultra Purge™ line of chemical purging agents and the Lusin® system for mold maintenance. The Ultra Purge™ line consists of chemical purging agents developed for rapid cleaning, efficient color changes, and contaminant removal in thermoplastic processes. Unlike solutions based on mechanical drag, Ultra Purge™ acts chemically, breaking the carbon bonds of the material encrusted on the screw.
This characteristic makes the product non-abrasive, protecting the screw and other equipment components against premature wear. At the same time, its expanding agent technology allows it to reach critical points on the machine, such as hard-to-reach areas and dead spots, where residue typically accumulates.
The result is deep cleaning, with a significant reduction in setup time and scrap generation. By decreasing the rate of unnecessary disposal of raw materials and plastics, the solution directly contributes to cost reduction and more sustainable practices. In many cases, it is possible to reduce purging process costs by up to 75%, positively impacting the financial performance of the operation.
“At the trade show, we will demonstrate how our technologies for the plastics processing industries in a wide variety of markets (food, UD, automotive, among others) directly impact the productivity and sustainability of processes. We work to reduce costs, minimize scrap, and offer greater safety to the operator and the equipment,” says Andressa Prado das Chagas, Internal Sales Manager and responsible for the Thermoplastics segment at the company.
DIFFERENTIALS OF CHEM-TREND CHEMICAL PURGING AND CLEANING TECHNOLOGIES
Among the specific solutions in the line, Ultra Purge™ C1851 stands out as a concentrated chemical purging agent, developed especially for the blown film market. Its cleaning action is fast and efficient, with a relevant differentiator: it does not rupture the bubble during the process. This means that color changes can be performed without interrupting production, keeping the operation active and reducing losses.
For general extrusion and blow molding without accumulators, Ultra Purge™ 3615 offers a ready-to-use solution, with high efficiency in removing black spots and contaminants. Its non-abrasive formulation ensures protection for the machinery, preserving screw performance and extending the equipment’s lifespan.
Ultra Purge™ 3627 was developed for sheet extrusion, promoting cleaning that reaches critical areas of the system. In addition to significantly reducing setup time, the product is safe for use in food applications and is easy to remove after use, adding practicality to the process.
By presenting these solutions at Interplast, Chem-Trend demonstrates how chemical purging can transform the routine of injection, extrusion, and blow molding industries. With fewer stoppages, less waste generation, and greater process stability, companies gain competitiveness in an increasingly demanding market.
SOLUTIONS FOR MOLD MAINTENANCE
Another highlight is the Lusin® line, a complete system for mold maintenance that includes solutions for cleaning, lubrication, and protection. Proper mold maintenance is essential to ensure dimensional quality, surface finish, and repeatability in production cycles.
With Lusin®, companies now have an integrated set of products that facilitates mold conservation, reduces the risk of corrosion, and increases process reliability. Effective cleaning removes residues and deposits that can compromise performance, while proper lubrication ensures smooth operation of moving components. Preventive protection, in turn, helps extend the lifespan of molds and reduce repair and replacement costs.
