Interplast 2024 will be the opportunity for the activas Group to officially announce its new business front, actcycle. This new unit is focused on the production and distribution of thermoplastic resins recycled from industrial waste, which represents an innovative initiative in the segment for sustainability.
actcycle operates with a reverse logistics process focused on sustainability, selectively collecting industrial waste from its customers and reprocessing it at its unit in Diadema. With an initial capacity to produce around 300 tons of recycled resins per month, actcycle will boost actplus’ revenue by 10% to 15%.
During the fair, the activas Group will also hold the lecture “actcycle: Sustainable Solutions for the Plastic Chain”, highlighting the initiatives and guidelines of the new business. The presentation will be led by Fernanda Boldo, Head of Marketing, ESG and Supply Chain, and by Wagner Catrasta, Head of Operations at actplus, emphasizing the evolutions achieved by the company over the years.
EXPERTISE IN SUPPLYING RECYCLED COMMODITIES AND RESINS WITH A FOCUS ON SUSTAINABILITY
In addition to launching the unit focused on recycled resins, the activas Group details at the event its initiatives in the national distribution of commodities and engineering plastics. It highlights the high quality of services, especially the agility and security provided by fleet tracking, and highlights its continuous commitment to innovation and sustainability in the plastics industry. Highlight is the active BIOPCR line, made up of sustainable products, offering R-PET, a 100% circular and recyclable plastic option, with a lower carbon footprint than other packaging materials, such as glass and aluminum.
actcycle represents a significant advance in the search for sustainable solutions in the plastics chain. By recycling industrial waste and transforming it into high-quality thermoplastic resins, the activas Group not only contributes to reducing environmental impact, but also promotes the circular economy within the sector. This innovative approach reflects the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility and the continuous search for more sustainable business practices.
Promoting the increasing use of post-consumer materials and valuing plastic recycling and the commitment as a circular company, activas defined the operating strategy, principles and management guidelines applicable to ESG issues related to the business model. With a focus on sustainability, the company neutralized its carbon emissions, whose fleet is made up of Mercedes-Benz Euro 5 standard truck models, globally recognized for their eco-efficiency and offsetting unavoidable emissions through the purchase of carbon credits, following the recommendations of global bodies that control these indicators.
