Bronze Metal brings to Interplast Special Alloys of High Hardness Bronze and High Conductivity Copper
Interplast, one of the largest technology and innovation fairs for the plastics industry, will feature Bronze Metal’s innovative products, special high-hardness bronze and high-conductivity copper alloys. Highlights include new products such as TZM, an alloy produced through the powder metallurgy process, based on molybdenum with the addition of zirconium and titanium.
This combination results in a special alloy with greater resistance to abrasion and superior thermal conductivity compared to beryllium copper. TZM is ideal for manufacturing tips (hot runner tips), and is suitable for work at high temperatures, withstanding up to 1400°C. Its application is ideal in processes that require high thermal and mechanical resistance.
CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY IN SPECIAL ALLOYS
Bronze Metal works with different alloys which are used in different sectors, always looking for better efficiency and durability. For the Plastic Industry, for example, the main alloys used are the copper alloys BM 172 HT and BM 1751 HT and the bronze alloys BM 954 and BM 863.
The BM 172 HT alloy, composed of 2% beryllium copper, meets the RWMA class 4 standard, with high hardness and good thermal exchange. It is recommended for cavities, inserts and other components in plastic molds, when subjected to wear due to extreme compression and corrosion. This alloy is also suitable for injection pistons in aluminum pressure castings, when highly abrasive alloys are used.
The copper alloy BM 1751 HT, is composed of 0.5% beryllium nickel copper, meets the RWMA class 3 standard, with high electrical and thermal conductivity, also has good mechanical properties, and can be applied in a variety of fields, such as : injection and blow molds, aluminum injection piston, electrode holders and electrodes for welding stainless steels, refractory or special steels such as monel and nickel alloys.
The bronze alloys BM 954 and 863 are the most used of the entire range of alloys sold by Bronze Metal. They have the lowest coefficient of friction, high resistance to wear, and fatigue. Due to their excellent mechanical properties, they are used in the manufacture of wear plates, wedges, gears, racks, mold inserts and bushings. They can also be used in dies for forming tubes.
ABOUT BRONZE METAL
Bronze Metal is constantly modernizing its structure, machinery and expanding its suppliers, always looking for new technologies in the international market. The company is dedicated to the production of continuous casting, extruded, forged, centrifuged and rolled materials, guaranteeing special alloys of high quality and performance.
With more than four decades of experience, Bronze Metal maintains strict quality control in each piece produced.
The use of advanced technology allows the precise identification of special alloys and the verification of their properties before the manufacturing process is completed. This ensures that products meet established standards and offer the necessary security for customers.
The company has a large stock of special alloys in Brazil, including round bars, rectangular bars and bushings with a length of up to 3,600 mm, as well as forged plates and machined parts to fulfill contracts. This diversity allows us to serve different markets, such as tube bending and forming, plastic industry, resistance welding, injection pistons, maintenance, aerospace, offshore and steelmaking, among others.
