Eco Ventures is present at Interplast 2024 with Go Green P-Life, the revolutionary bioassimilation oxidative catalyst that has been transforming the plastics industry, truly promoting sustainability. Go Green P-Life is a pro-degradant resin based on a fatty acid derived from Palm coconut oil, coming from a renewable source. This resin is capable of transforming a variety of naphtha-derived polymers, including polyethylene, polypropylene, PET and polystyrene, into biodegradable products.
One of the main advantages of the Go Green P-Life additive is its ease of integration into the standard production process, without the need for changes to the formula or existing machinery. With just 1 to 2% added to the formulation, this resin does not interfere with extrusion, blowing, injection, thermoforming or rotomolding processes.
It is important to highlight that the use of Go Green Resin does not compromise the essential properties of plastic products, such as resistance, transparency, sealing, permeability and printability. This means that products continue to be reusable and recyclable before the degradation process begins. Furthermore, the cost to implement this technology in additives is extremely affordable.
BIOASSIMILATION ADDITIVE TESTS
Go Green P-Life additive has undergone rigorous testing by RISE in accordance with international standards, including SASO 2879 and ASTM D6954-18. The results of these tests prove the effectiveness of P-Life in several areas:
• Level 1 – Abiotic Degradability Assessment: Observe the loss of mechanical properties and the reduction in molecular weight, loss of plastic handling.• Level 2 – Biological Degradability Assessment: More than 60% of organic carbon was converted into carbon dioxide at the end of the test, demonstrating the biodegradation capacity of products treated with Go Green P-Life.
• Level 3 – Ecotoxicology Assessment: The plants showed a germination and growth rate above 90% compared to the control, reducing the environmental safety of the delivery process.
In summary, the Go Green P-Life additive promotes the bioassimilation of non-degradable plastics in nature, making them biodegradable. At the end of the transformation process, these materials are completely bioassimilated, leaving no recycled residue in the environment, resulting only in water, carbon dioxide and humus.
