The Union of Rio Grande do Sul Northeast Plastic Material Industries – Simplás confirmed the attendance to the Interplast and organizes collective booth to gather associates, enabling the exchange and business with companies from other regions of Brazil. Each associate will have its space in the shared booth and can present the solutions of its companies for the plastic market that visits the fair in Joinville. Confirmed companies are Dzainer, Elri Plast, Ipos, Lineform, Perfil-Maq, Polifibras and Sulpet.
Simplás represents over 400 companies, of eight municipalities of the region municipalities (Caxias do Sul, Coronel Pilar, Farroupilha, Flores da Cunha, Garibaldi, Nova Pádua, São Marcos and Vale Real), responsible for, approximately, 11 thousand direct jobs. The industries of plastic transformation of the Northeast consume 70% of the resin used in the production of technical components and 85% of the resin used in the furniture sector of the State, totaling an annual revenue above R$ 3 billion.
The Union’s history
The plastic history in the region of Serra of Rio Grande do Sul started with the installation of the first transformation industry, in Caxias do Sul, in 1949. As of such date the industrial vocation of the region, especially focused on viniculture and metallurgy, started to have the plastic segment as an additional factor of its economic development.
By the 70’s there were few manufacturing industries, but the number increased in the next decade, making the region an important pole of the sector. The need of exchange of technical and market information stimulated the creation of Simplás – Union of Rio Grande do Sul Northeast Plastic Material Industries, in 1989.
Since Simplás creation, the region has experienced the strong industrial development, having become the main plastic pole of the State and one of the most prominent of the country. Throughout these years, the Union has always focused on the third-generation industry growth, never saving efforts to provide associates with technical qualification and good business indicators, as well as has been spokesman with the public power, of the claims of the economic category that represents.
